Claim to fame: She began as a chanteuse in the 60's, but her music became secondary to her colorful personal life. Sex, drugs and rock and roll ruled this ladies life for a long time and her long-term relationships with Mick Jagger and heroin took center stage for awhile. Though she was dealt some rough cards, she managed to overcome her demons and return to music...

Greetings Earthlings, Azil here. Haley and I had another rooftop photo-shoot. It was a beautiful, warm, September evening, and I had the urge to shoot. The lighting was this pretty pink-gray colour and I couldn't resist. The fruits of a lazy fall afternoon, with Haley Grossmith, who rocks any vintage look...

Sweet Sounds: The Duhks

Hello darlings!

Aside from our passion for vintage fashion, gems and stones - there is another love we hold very dear to us. That love is music. So on top of blogging about our fashion finds and inspiration, we will from time to time introduce you to some of our favorite artists in hopes that you will love them as much as we do!

First up, Winnipeg darlings THE DUHKS. Now this is an act that simply cannot be summed up in one genre. They are an eclectic blend of everything from bluegrass to afro-beat to folk to world music. Musicianship? Fantastic... but the voice of singer Sara Dugas is simply other-worldly. After finally seeing them live last night, Allison has come to the decision that Sara cannot actually be human.
